History of RAIS International School
Ramkhamhaeng Advent International School1234 Ramkhamhaeng
Advent International School (RAIS) is a privately-owned Christian school servingstudents from Daycare to Grade 12 in the greater Bangkok area. It is operated by the G.J. Education Company Ltd.

Mr. Udom Srikureja, the Chairman of RAIS, is a Seventh-day Adventist. In 1998, one morning during his customary devotion, he was urged by an inner voice to set up a sc

hool that will help to plant the seeds of God’s love in the hearts of students. At first, he was not enchanted by the bidding of this voice of God since Education endeavors were not within the realm of his business which was to manufacture speakers for sound system; however, the voice persisted, and he yielded to the heavenly vision, and converted his business complex into a school. Today, together with his family, which owns RAIS, he stands as a shining example of what God can accomplish through the life of a dedicated Christian.

In August 1999, RAIS came into existence under the name, Ramkhamhaeng Adventist International School (a minor alteration was made in the school’s name in 2005). In the first school year, RAIS enrolled sixty-nine students, and has experienced a consistent growth in enrollment in each subsequent year since the school’s inception. Most recent enrollment figures show the total number of students reaching nearly seven hundred in grades K-12 and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) without counting the feeding programs.

Mr. Udom Srikureja established RAIS with a solid basis in Adventist Christian Principles following the Seventh-day Adventist holistic model of education which emphasizes mental, physical, social, spiritual growth and development. RAIS students are recognized as unique God-created individuals. In that light, teachers and administrators endeavor to equip students to reach their full, God-given potentials and talents in every aspect of life.

RAIS is founded on the premise that God is the Creator of all life and the Source of all knowledge. For that reason, academics at RAIS place a large emphasis on the centrality of the Christian Scriptures and the wisdom that comes from God so the school’s motto states, “They shall all be taught of God.”

In addition to stressing academic achievement, RAIS curriculum places an equal importance on character development. Students are taught and encouraged to demonstrate respect for diverse cultures and people both in words and in deeds. The academics at RAIS revolve around scholastic learning and moral maturation.

Mission Statement

RAIS is committed to giving each student a quality, well-rounded Christian education emphasizing academic excellence and character development. They shall be all taught of God.

Philosophy of Education

Ramkhamhaeng Advent International School seeks to provide a well-rounded Christian education that focuses on academic excellence and the development of strong moral values. The philosophy of education is firmly grounded on the Seventh-day Adventist system of education, the largest Protestant school system in the world. This philosophy is as follows:

“True education means more than the pursual of certain courses of study. It means more than the preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being.” E. G. White, Education, p. 13.

The Bible is the most important textbook used in the classroom. Through its teachings, students learn that God loves each of them individually and plans only for their best interests.

Viewing each child as a unique creation of God, teachers recognize that students at all levels of schooling possess individuality, encourage development and use specific talents to become individuals of principle qualified for any position in life. Through positive reinforcement, the faculty seeks to assist each student in achieving his/her academic and other potentials.
